About the artist

A fine artist, a painter-printmaker living and working in England. Recurring themes are the estuary, the willow, aspects of psychology. Informed by art history and pre-history, but the work is always about times to come.

Awarded BA (Honours) in Fine Art and the History of Art at Canterbury College, gained teaching qualification at the London Institute of Education. After teaching went to Central St Martin’s to study on the Art & Science MA course gaining a distinction.

“I work in all media and in particular: painting, pastel, and monotype. I recently illustrated a short story, Reboot, by the writer Tara Basi which came out on Amazon in 2023. It’s themes of consciousness and artificial intelligence I find fascinating.

“I choose whatever medium is appropriate or inspires me, and my creative process allows work to develop and evolve, whereby one painting leads to another forming a group of paintings, and this group then informs another both on a formal and psychological level. The pieces continue to evolve, bringing together abstract and figurative elements to create images that I hope are not the usual.”
